All prepared.
It’s been a while,
I was out of this “tinder-date-zone”!
Seriously, dates, me and matches on tinder,
Is like finding “the sci-fi logic” in Karan Johar’s movie!
Stop thinking about the series of flings you had in college.
They don’t work anymore.
Stop gigging!
And yes the day has come!
And hence prepares the meek
To face the Chandler of geeks
Stop thinking about the series of flings you had in college
Lest you give up,
And return before facing the battlefield !
..
So, yes that’s how I have been preparing for my next date!
Trying to fit pieces at their respective places.
Figuring what I could perceive from the “nth reads of your writings”
Simple, Crisp, Clear and full of “semi-colons”!
A semi colon leaves hope for more
Glad some people notice ;
Or maybe semi colon
Provides a way
To take a pause
When you’re filled with so much emotion
You can write no more.
..
But the one thing:
I’m really scared about is: How to react?
Like a hug would be nice or a formal handshake.
Should I just bow my head or maybe I should just wave my hand?
What’s wrong with me!
Bow your head
For eternity
If you plan
On surrendering yourself to me
For I am the Unicorn Queen!
..
Yes, that’s what's wrong with me.
I want to fit it all at this pace.
Too fuckin’ perfect to be true!
(Sorry for cuss words, but you have heard me saying that before as well!)
Haven’t you?
..
What would you say:
When I’ll ask you: “Your favorite song?”
Would it be something like “Awake my Soul” or “Set Fire to the Rain”!
O God,
Help me out!
What should I respond: if she ever asks me the same?
Should I say “Chan Kithan” or “Dil Beparwah”?
No, No: "All I want"!
Yes, that’s perfect.
In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die
But I set fire to the rain
Where you invest your love, you invest your life.
..
“All I want is nothing more
To hear you knocking at my door,
'Cause if I could see your face once more
I could die a happy man I'm sure.”
..
Now, you understood what this means?
A date for the old-school.
Where books are more important than the check-ins.
Coffee with a view is more important than the selfies.
Silence is more important than just blabbering.
And diving in your kohl-complemented eyes
Is enough to read it all!
..
The secrets you’ve been hiding inside,
Beneath the kohl and your eyeliner
Trying to play with your curls,
And boom, there you’re trying to change the platonic
By bringing up another John Green reference!
"The simple pleasure of saying true things, trumps everything. Always."
..
You’re smart. Maybe!
You’re honest: Totally!
And that’s what makes you special.
Your eyes just say it all!
It’s “All in your Eyes.
All in your eyes.”
..
I want to make this date too perfect to be true,
Where “Absence is no Permanence.”
And you’re no more a broken dream!
..
Why don't you sing me a lullaby before I lie down for my last sleep?
Or maybe a dream in my dream which I’ll preserve in montages,
One for each “'Ahaan..' and the cup of coffee you ever had!”
And how could I forget books:
A happy montage:
One for each time you quoted “John Green”.
…
Isn’t this perfect?
Isn’t that’s how things are supposed to be
Where you don’t crave for impressions!
You’re too true to be a unicorn queen.
A protagonist of no more Shakespeare’s tragedies.
..
What if you turn out to be a dream for one and an impression for too many?
Why don’t you stop looking for love in places unnamed and
Maybe try a few from the paper towns?
Why are you willing to save those memories in as pristine form as it is possible to save in this world ?
But not willing to make a new one:
A world for yourself?
..
Maybe I’m wrong.
Maybe I'm getting a bit more selfish.
Maybe I'm asking you for too much!
But, I have told you this is going to be a perfect date:
Where silence speaks more than the words
And your eyes a little louder,
And your writings are a bit more clear:
Packed with semi-colons!
..
Maybe you are: too true to be real,
Too inflicted to be broken,
Too fragile to be hurt,
But not too naïve to fall for this twice!
And it’s not your fault,
Neither were your choices wrong!
…
..
At the end of the day, all we have is a set of mixed feelings and moments. Feelings for everything or at times for everyone! So, we have tried to put them in words. Special thanks to Aparna Awasthi - the one with red liners: - for keeping it crisp and clear like always! Yes, she is the one in the frame. If you ever want to engage in a conversation with her, just quote John Green and there she is! Thanks for reading!
